We should all just remember that Team Aqua and Team Magma were fashion disasters from the very beginning. I kind of like the physical variety of them all though...

1) Everyone knew that, and 2) so do I. People aren’t complaining about the designs as such, they’re complaining that they completely redesigned old characters to a degree that’s never been done for anyone else that had an established design already. (So Rocket execs don’t count.) But it’s hardly important in the grand scheme of things.
To be honest, Tabitha and Shelly were hardly all that different from the grunt designs, and Matt and Courtney never even got any art (apart from the manga). They also redesigned the Rocket Execs in HGSS from the ones in the original GSC, don't forget, and their HGSS counterparts each looked a lot different from those designs. I'm not too upset at the redesign even though I think it could have been a bit better than what it turned out as.

I’m not buttmad either, anon–just a bit disappointed. I’m not the “omg childhood ruined!” type by a long shot. Still going to buy both games and play the shit out of both and probably import merch from Japan too. C'est la vie.
