We should all just remember that Team Aqua and Team Magma were fashion disasters from the very beginning. I kind of like the physical variety of them all though...

People aren’t complaining about the designs as such, they’re complaining that they completely redesigned old characters to a degree that’s never been done for anyone else that had an established design already. (So Rocket execs don’t count.) But it’s hardly important in the grand scheme of things.
To be honest, Tabitha and Shelly were hardly all that different from the grunt designs, and Matt and Courtney never even got any art (apart from the manga). They also redesigned the Rocket Execs in HGSS from the ones in the original GSC, don't forget, and their HGSS counterparts each looked a lot different from those designs. I'm not too upset at the redesign even though I think it could have been a bit better than what it turned out as.

Yeah, I don't care if this makes me unpopular with the rest of the Magma/Aqua fandom, but I LIKE the new designs. Not completely, but more than I did at first. Okay they are radically different but I think after everyone's over the shock of that the new designs will start to grow on people, like when they revealed Mega Mewtwo Y. And I like new Tabitha and will defend him from all the fat jokes already happening.

really disheartened now cause seems like the majority fandom hate the designs but I like them ;_; don't wanna end up having arguments and losing friends in the fandom over this.
