I was just skimming through Mewtwo Returns when I noticed this. So folks, Giovanni is married and probably to Ariana, who else? (no, not Delia please) However, Ariana doesn’t have one on her concept sheet, so she must have dropped it in the toilet (yes yes). I don’t think that’s a wedding ring, though? Like, people in the Pokémon anime don’t seem to wear them. Gym Leader Norman and his wife Caroline don’t, for example, and they’re pretty darn married. (I love that episode where she thought he was cheating on her with the local Nurse Joy, haha.) So while I don’t think it’s unreasonable that Gio could be married, even to Ariana, I don’t think this screencap proves it. Though it does prove he is a pimp who likes wearing funky rings.
