It also helps that Archie’s way more level-headed than Maxie, despite his plans being slightly stupider. He realizes his plan’s a bad idea 30 seconds after it starts raining, whereas Maxie throws a fit when Groudon cheeses it, blames you of all people, tries to rob the Space Center and blow up Mt. Chimney out of sheer spite and/or desperation, and only begins to question himself in any way after you and Steven have wiped the floor with him yet again. Then, when he confronts Archie once Kyogre’s woken up, he blames Archie for everything, even though Maxie did pretty much all of the stupid/dangerous/stupidly dangerous/dangerously stupid shit in the game.

You don’t even meet Malva until after you’ve beaten Flare…how cool would it have been to confront her in Lysandre Labs beforehand?!sk

I really love the idea of all the ladies having different specialties…like, I like that they physically look similar, because it plays into the “robotic” nature of their uniforms, but counterbalancing that by having them have different origins and bodies of knowledge is double-cool. HOORAY FOR SCIENCE LADIES, AM I RIGHT.

I like it too, anon! Marc Thompson seems to be doing his best Skeletor impression and for me it cannonballs straight into “so bad, it’s good” territory. Plus anime Maxie looks all old and gross and it just fits somehow.

My personal favorites are Team Aqua and Team Magma, because they’re such total idiots and all of their shenanigans were clearly just an over-dramatization of a rocky time in Archie and Maxie’s marriage. But I think all of the Pokémon villains are great in their own way.
